3M™ SecureFit™ Hard Hat Description:

The 3M™ SecureFit™ H-Series Hard Hats feature 3M’s comfort innovation in a design that retains the popular traditional cap and broad crown. When putting on a hard helmet for an entire work session, it is essential that it fits appropriately and is comfortable.

In response, 3M has developed a suspension system that adapts to the wearer’s position as the ratchet is tightened. Selected nine times out of ten times over current conventional hard helmets, this suspension system increases comfort for all-day wear by flexing and self-adjusting to the size of the wearer’s skull, thereby reducing forehead pressure.

Eye and face: Virtua and Virtua AP protective eyewear, GoggleGear and 2890 series safety goggles, 334 series chemical splash and anti-fog goggles, anti-mist welding goggles and a clear polycarbonate faceshield. Respiratory: the N95 particulate respirator and a P100 particulate filter. And outside PPE, 3M electrical vinyl tape.

The numbers printed on 3M packaging are the specification, not decoration. Earplugs and earmuffs carry an attenuation rating, and the right one follows measured noise rather than comfort — over-protection cuts a worker off from alarms and from the people around them. Hard hats are vented or non-vented for a reason: vented is cooler and does not belong on electrical work. Goggles are rated separately for impact, for splash and for fogging, and an anti-fog coating is a consumable that wears out.
