A pump is specified by the fluid before anything else. Grease pumps are rated by ratio — 55:1 is drum-service pressure, and a lower ratio will not push cold grease through a long hose. Diaphragm pumps are chosen by body and elastomer against chemical compatibility, not by flow alone. And a transfer pump approved for diesel is not a pump for petrol; the approval on the housing is the part that matters.
